According to new government figures, pollution levels are rising again after several years of gradualdecline.

The higher emissions are primarily a reflection of a( 39)economy, as American businesses burned more gas and oil to meet higher demand. But the shift also highlights the challenge(40)the Obama administration as it seeks to honor a pledge to sharply cut U.S.emissions of greenhouse gases by the end of the decade.Administration officials said the(41)was not particularly surprising given the improving economy, and some pointed to one of the report's bright spots: Even as the economy expanded, carbon(42)from automobiles have remained essentially flat, as more Americans switched to fuel-efficient cars and trucks. Some also cited another(43)trend in the report: Big jumps in the use of alternative and renewable(44).Solar, wind and hydropower were up more than 7 percent compared with two years ago, according to the report, and renewable sources now(45)for nearly 12 percent of the country's domestic energy production.

根据下面资料,回答下列题

How to Set up Parental Controls on a SmartphoneSave your kids from the dark side of the Internet.

A) Kids are always flocking to the latest gadgets.Whether it was Nintendo (任天堂,一款电脑游戏) inthe 80s or the iPhone 6 in 2014, each new generation seems to have a better grasp of technology.Sohow do you stay one step ahead of your kids and make sure they're not being exposed toinappropriate content? The answer: parental controls.Luckily, both Apple and Google are wellaware of the problem and have provided plenty of tools to protect your kids (and to make sure theydon't rack up hundreds of dollars in in-app purchases ).Here we explain how to set up thosecontrols on both Android and iOS devices:

Android Parental Controls

B) Google's OS (Operating System) only has parental controls built in for tablets, but it does have decent controls for all devices in the Googie Play Store. If you go into the store's settings, you will fred a Parental Controls menu. It's off by default (系统默认) and requires you to create a fourdigit PIN when you turn it on.Once you've created a PIN, you will be able to decide which content ratings are acceptable for your kids, and the Play Store will only display content within those ratings.Unfortunately, you can't shut off in-app purchases, but you can require a password for all purchases. To enable passwords for every purchase, tap on "Require authentication (确认) for purchases" under the Play Store's settings menu. This will bring up a prompt asking you to select whether you want to require authentication for every purchase, every 30 minutes, or never.By default, it should be set for every purchase, but you should check to be sure.

C) As for tablet parental controls, these center around an Android feature called "restricted profiles".Unlike on iPads, Android tablets allow you to set up multiple user accounts, or profiles, similar to computers. To set up a restricted profile, go into the Android Settings app, tap on Users, tap "Add user or profile", and finally tap "Restricted profile".From here, you can set content restrictions and even shut off access to specific apps.Just make sure that you've also set up Play Store parental controls, as well as put a password on your personal user profile. The last thing you want is for your child to use your unrestricted account to access content they shouldn't be seeing. This is as far as Android goes when it comes to parental controls, but if you want even tighter controls over your kids' phones you can use powerful third-party apps thanks to the open nature of Android.

iOS Parental Controls

D) While Android probably takes the crown when it comes to managing storage space, Apple's iOS has far better parental controls. It includes intensive controls for pretty much everything, even the ability to delete an installed app.All of these controls are broken into two separate features of theOS: Restrictions and Family Sharing.

E) Restrictions This feature is buried within the iOS Settings, but the amount of control it gives you is incredible. You can do everything from shut off cellular data (蜂窝数据) to block use of the builtin camera. To set up Restrictions, go to Settings > General > Restrictions. It will immediately ask you tocreate a four-digit PIN, after which you can define exactly what restrictions you want.Once you'veset up a PIN, you can shut off access to the iTunes and App Stores, prevent in-app purchases, setcontent ratings, block certain websites, and even prevent your kids from changing their phones'privacy settings. You will probably fmd that a lot of the restrictions are unnecessary, but it'scertainly nice to have the options. You can never be too safe.

F) Family Sharing Let's say you've set up Restrictions, but you still want to give your kids the ability to purchase apps.Instead of coming to you with their phones and asking you to enter your password for eachpurchase, you can set up Apple Family Sharing, a new feature introduced with iOS 8.

G) While this feature has a number of different functions, the best is the way it handles purchases foryour family.Apple notes that all purchases are made with the same credit card, but they can beseparately operated by each member of the family, preventing your iPhone from filling up with appsyou didn't download, like your kids' latest games.Perhaps the best part of Family Sharing is the "Ask to Buy" feature. If you set this up on your kids' devices, all of their purchase requests will berouted to your phone, presenting a notification where you can either allow or deny the purchase. And if you decide you want to download the app as well, you can access their purchases todownload it yourself.Faxaily Sharing also allows you to keep an eye on your kids' locations via theFind My Friends app, as well as the locations of their devices with the Find My iPhone app.

H) To set up Family Sharing, go into the Settings app on your iPhone (not your kid's) and tap iCloud. You will see a button that says "Set up Family Sharing", which will walk you through the process.According to Apple, once you add family members via their Apple IDs, they will receive invitationsto join your family group. If your kids are under the age of 13, Apple now allows you to make AppleIDs for them, which you can do by going back into your iCloud settings, tapping Family, and thenhitting "Create an Apple ID for a child." Once you've set up Family Sharing, Apple explains howyou can enable Ask to Buy on your kids' devices by going to Settings > iCloud > Family, thenselecting a family member and tapping "Ask to Buy".

I)With all of these different features, you should be able to lock down your kids' devices touncrackable levels. They may be a bit frustrated by it all, but at least you can keep them safe onlineand avoid costly bills from the App Store.

(1)

You can set up several user accounts or profiles on Android tablets as you do on computers.

(2)

Find My Friends and Find My iPhone are two apps for Family Sharing, which can help you to locate your kids and their phones.

(3)

Parental controls can help parents to preset the content their kids have access to in in-app stores.

(4)

Once you set up the "Ask to Buy" feature, any purchase your kids operate will be notified to your phone and confirmed by you.

(5)

With a PIN, parents will be able to ensure that the content ratings are suitable for kids.

(6)

With Family Sharing, you can establish a family group by inviting family members in via their Apple IDs.

(7)

iOS Parental Controls have two different characteristics: Restrictions and Family Sharing.

(8)

Android is compatible to third-party apps, some of which can help to carry out tighter controls over kids' phones.

(9)

All the features of Android and lOS parental controls could help to confme your kids' phone use strictly to a safe boundary.

(10)

Many restrictions in iOS settings may never be used, but they offer parents choices nicely.
